Stage 2: Writing the Controlling Idea as a Topic Sentence or Thesis
Class started at 4:30 p.m. at the computer lab. We discussed about the ineffective and effective ways of writing a thesis or topic sentence. We also defined the following words; focus, subject, topic sentence, and thesis. Your topic sentence or thesis has to be persuasive and interesting if you don't want your audience to be bored.

We had a heads up before about it. It felt different starting class pretty late. But, I know that we are going to be ahead of task. It will be the same usual day for success.

ReplyDeleteOur topic sentence is basically the same as your thesis. It's what catches your audiences ears and compels them to be interested enough to continue reading it.
ReplyDeleteConsidering your audience, you should think about what they're interested in. For example, if my audience consists of my friends, I would think about our similar interests.
